I know I shouldn't make promises I don't keep. The last time I posted I had intentions of staying current and keeping my blog updated. What happened to that?! I haven't made too many cards lately but did finish up this birthday card yesterday. I think it turned out pretty cute and I love this technique for folding the cards.

It's been so long since I've been on my blog. 2009 turned out to be a hard year. However, I am now in remission and hopefully the bad stuff is all behind me. This promises to be a busy year as my daughter and her fiance are getting married in November. I am making "Save the date" announcements now. Busy and fun...

Hard to believe I know! This has been a hard summer for me to keep up with things. I was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma in April and have been going through aggressive chemotherapy and am ready now for an autologous stem cell transplant. I haven't been working on cards as much as usual and it was difficult to find something cheery to say in a blog. Now that I'm getting closer to getting through this, I'll try to do a little better. I go back in the hospital September 9th for my last chemotherapy and the transplant. It will be a long stay - 3 1/2 to 4 weeks, but I so want to get it over with.

This card is one I made to send to my neighbor who has been taking care of my pampered poodles while I've been in the hospital. I love the pleated technique on the bottom of the card. See splitcoaststampers for directions. Thanks for checking in.

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. I have been in and out of the hospital a couple of times and am dealing with some issues. I like to keep my blog updated, but somehow it just hasn't happened. This card is a cute birthday card that I made a while back. I like to have a couple of these on hand so I don't find myself without a b-day card when I need it ;-) Thanks to my loyal followers who continue to check in even when I'm slacking. I'll try to do better.

Hubby and I have been to Bloomington today for a graduation party for my college roommate's daughter. It was a beautiful day for it and a great time to catch up with my old friends. Now we're home and I'm thinking about doing a little stamping. This birthday card is one I did for my daughter. My inspiration was probably from Tori again; she has the greatest ideas! ;-) I see somebody from Rushville IL has visited my blog; now who is it?! No fair visiting and not commenting. I've had this card made for awhile. I often color way too much and don't get cards made with my images~ oh, well! It's alumni weekend here so the ole town is hoppin'.
It's a beautiful day, so I imagine everyone will have a great time. We don't have any big plans but it's fun to see everyone in town. Hope you all enjoy your Memorial Day weekend.

It's been way too long! I know how upset I get when my favorite bloggers don't post daily!! And...I'm doing good to post monthly! We've been to Arkansas for a visit and things have been hectic here, but that's no excuse ;-) I forgot about this card. I raised the wagon on dimensionals which made it really cute. I love these little girls! CC Designs and Whipper Snapper are such great stamps. I wait every month to see what they have new coming out. I did get my new air compressor for my Copics and love it! Most of the cards I'm making now have air brushing incorporated into them ;-)

I need to keep my blog more current....especially when I have a few followers (thanks Sue, carddoodles, and Gail!) It's so much more fun when you have visitors to your blog! I've been stamping quite a bit this week but don't have the cards finished yet. I love to stamp and color and then I procrastinate about finishing up the cards.

I love these little monkeys; I think they make a great birthday card for either a man or a woman. It's always nice to have a few birthday cards made up. Kristen does a good job of keeping mine depleted ;-) Anyway, thanks for stopping bye. I love to hear from you.

After posting last year's card, I felt so guily that I hadn't made any for this year that I went downstairs and made one card. I'm definitely not going to have all the cards to send out that I usually do, but oh well. I'm also working on another card that I cased from Tori Wild's blog. I just haven't been able to get much stamping time in lately. It's looking like I might not get Easter cards made this year. I did find this card that I made last year at Easter time. I want to try out a few new stamps I have, so hopefully I'll drag myself downstairs sometime soon. My friend Gail is coming home Thursday so that usually motivates me to stamp when I have company ;-) It's nice here today and I am so looking forward to getting out to golf. We have the golf cart at home right now, but should have it in working order soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Las Vegas

No card to share today but thought I would post a picture from our Las Vegas trip. We were only gone from Saturday through Tuesday night, but I feel like I walked miles and miles. We had a great time! The last time John and I were in Vegas was probably 20 years ago; boy has it changed! In the picture with me is my daughter Kristen and her boyfriend, Brandon.

It really does seem like forever since I've blogged! Life gets in the way sometimes and it's been so hectic here. We are all taking turns with a bad cold at our house and I few awful right now, but hopefully it will clear up in a couple of days. We are getting ready for a trip to Las Vegas! Woo hoo! Can't wait. I'm sure I'm going to come back much richer. Ok - it's alright to dream, right?! ;-) One of the poodles had to go to the vet yesterday with a sore on her leg. Seems she caused it herself by licking her leg; a habit she has developed.

This card is one I did a long time ago but thought I'd add a little eye candy. If I don't post something, you all won't come visit my blog anymore and I'd hate that. I expect a daily entry on alot of the blogs I visit. I know...I don't ask for much.

Sympathy cards and get well cards are probably my least favorite to make. However, this card was simple and fun! Love all the images from this Hannah set. See the get well card on a previous post with the girl in bed; this is the same set. The images are so cute and fun to color ;-) I'm also enjoying making the small cards with the spellbinders dies. This is a card I came across in a drawer. I had alot of cards made up but haven't photographed them (pre blog days) I decided it would be nice to have a little stash that I can post when I don't have a new card ready to go, so I got busy with my camera ;-) I used microbeads on the footprints which really made the card. My stamping buddy is back in Arkansas so I don't get as much stamping in now. Darn!...Sure do miss her. Looks like a good TV night tonight with Idol and Biggest Loser and I guess there is more about the Bachelor. What did you think of last night's episode? wow....

Get Well Card

I wanted to share the card I made for my daughter, Kristen to give to a friend of hers who is having her gallbladder removed. She is also newly engaged so notice the bling ;-) This stamp set is from Hannah Stamps and I used Copic markers to color it. Something I just started doing......pick the designer paper I want to use so I can get a color combo for the picture. Something so simple.....yet, I never thought of doing that. Makes it really easy to color that way and I like the look of the coorindated effect.

I went to Springfield today and had to stop at Michael's and Hobby Lobby. I found some new punches....edge and small punches that looked interesting to me. After trying them out, I know I'll be back with some of my 40% off coupons to stock up on more. These were at Michael's and are by EK Success. The edge punch I got had a moon and other figures that looked like they would be cute for a baby card. The small punch was a photo corner punch (small size with scalloped edges) which is so cute! I feel like I must enable some of you since Tori is always enabling me!! :-) Another border punch that was really cute had birthday candles all along it. Got to have it. Ok, that's enough for today. Run, don't walk to Michael's.

Tuesday was Terri's birthday....hope it was a good one! This is a stamp from Hobby Lobby colored with Copic markers. I was in the mood to sew and thought that added to the card. I just got some stamps & fonts from Just Rite Stampers. I have been playing with those and have decided they were definitely worth the money. So nice to run across a product that exceeds my expectations~ I will share a card with those soon. I made some simple monogramed cards last night. Have a wonderful day!

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #55

Here is my card for Taylor's cupcake challenge. Nothing like finishing up at 1:00 am! I had noticed where several people had said that this was a difficult challenge. I didn't think it looked that bad until I started working on it. It was harder than it looked...

I tried out my Copic marker air brush system for the first time. It's fun to use and gives a whole different effect. I probably wouldn't have made the background so dark if my gun hadn't left a dark blob of color. I think it will just take a little practice.

Hubby and I went to Springfield today and I bought a new paper cutter with my Michael's President's Day 50% off coupon. Got it home and it's missing a part so we will have to make a trip back to exchange it. The problem is, this was the last one on the shelf, so hopefully they will get more in soon.

It's about time I head to bed or I won't want to get up tomorrow.

I couldn't share this card until today since I hadn't given it to my friend (who checks my blog regularly. I wouldn't want her to get a sneak peak of her valentine ;-) The paper looked retro to me and I loved the way it coordinated with the image. So much fun, but I'm really tired of making Valentine's cards; how about you. I love them, don't get me wrong, but I start so early on the holidays that I get tired of them by the time they arrive. I've been making a few birthday cards, thank yous, etc before I hit St. Patrick's day with a vengeance. Really I don't make as many St. Pat's cards. Do you have fun plans for Valentine's Day? Would love to hear about them in a comment. We aren't doing anything too exciting. I'm perfectly content to stay tucked inside the warm cozy house when there's snow on the ground and it's gloomy outside. Who knows....maybe stamp a little, that sounds good to me.

Mojo Monday #72

It's time for the Mojo Monday contest again! This sketch turned out so cute. This card has me so excited....you know when everything seems to fall into place? Very seldom does this happen for me, but this card did. Notice the "Be My Honey" in the heart and then the little bee flying by in the cirle punch? How cute is that?!! This was K&Co paper and it just seemed to work. I used dimensionals on the large rectangle and then again on the circle punch and flowers. Thought it needed something else so I added the red crystal dots to finish it off.

If only you could have seen me trying to photograph this card. I was inside and then outside, and back inside again. I always have trouble getting the colors to look right.

I used a Stampin Up stamp set for this card that I have had for a couple of years. When I first used it I was using colored pencils and now I have Copic markers. Does it ever make a difference in the way the coloring looks!

I haven't made any cards for ahwile. I must have been worn out after the Christmas Cards! Today I did get around to making a card using a new set from Whipper Snapper Designs called Hello Neighbor. I love their stamps. It's been a boring day here. I haven't felt the best so we just stayed home all day. I did get alot done so that's good. I've been trying to record CDs from old VHS movies. I finally got one to work. I've had quite a time getting it going and it was supposed to be SO EASY. You know how that goes.

All the Christmas decorations are officially down! I'm always ready to get back to normal right after Christmas and get the clutter out. It feels so good to get back to normal. I posted the x-mas card from Gail. She's on her way back to her Arkansas home right now. She should be there by now.

Is everybody ready to start on Valentine's cards now? I have a new set of stamps from CC designs that I'm anxious to play with. I'll be searching for ideas on all your blogs :-)

With Christmas being over, I can't seem to find the time to stamp without feeling guilty about the mess I have all over the house. I've got tons of decorations to put away and lots of things going on. I got a new recorder today to record my Dad's old VHS videos onto CDs. I have been working on that this evening. I want to be able to preserve all the old pictures I have of the kids. How technology changes over the years; it's amazing.

I got a cute Christmas card from my stamping buddy Gail that I will post after I get a picture taken.

I'm going to call it a day and head to bed.

Hi, I'm totally new to this so bear with me! I have been reading and "stalking" other blogs for a long time now, but had no idea how to do one myself. I love checking my favorite blogs daily and I can't get my day started until I have done so. I have met so many friendly people by e-mailing them with questions etc that I decided I needed to get going with this. I have just recently found some new blogs I love; Wild Stamping Sprinkles and the Paper Landscaper to name a couple. I have followed Lauren Meader's blog for a long time and she continues to amaze me with all she crams into a day :-) I know I must be getting old when I'm tired just reading about all she does. I'll get into this more when I have time. I'd better get to thinking more about Christmas Eve right now. Stop by often and leave me a comment. I'd love to get to know you better.
